Bipolar Theorems for Sets of Non-negative Random Variables
Abstract: This paper assumes a robust, in general not dominated, probabilistic framework and provides necessary and sufficient conditions for a bipolar representation of subsets of the set of all quasi-sure equivalence classes of non-negative random variables, without any further conditions on the underlying measure space. This generalizes and unifies existing bipolar theorems proved under stronger assumpti… ▽ More

Building Resilience in Cybersecurity -- An Artificial Lab Approach
Abstract: Based on classical contagion models we introduce an artificial cyber lab: the digital twin of a complex cyber system in which possible cyber resilience measures may be implemented and tested. Using the lab, in numerical case studies, we identify two classes of measures to control systemic cyber risks: security- and topology-based interventions. We discuss the implications of our findings on select… ▽ More

Modeling and Pricing Cyber Insurance -- Idiosyncratic, Systematic, and Systemic Risks
Abstract: The paper provides a comprehensive overview of modeling and pricing cyber insurance and includes clear and easily understandable explanations of the underlying mathematical concepts. We distinguish three main types of cyber risks: idiosyncratic, systematic, and systemic cyber risks. While for idiosyncratic and systematic cyber risks, classical actuarial and financial mathematics appear to be well-… ▽ More

Asymptotic Analysis of Risk Premia Induced by Law-Invariant Risk Measures
Abstract: We analyze the limiting behavior of the risk premium associated with the Pareto optimal risk sharing contract in an infinitely expanding pool of risks under a general class of law-invariant risk measures encompassing rank-dependent utility preferences. We show that the corresponding convergence rate is typically only $n^{1/2}$ instead of the conventional $n$, with $n$ the multiplicity of risks in… ▽ More

On Farkas' Lemma and Related Propositions in BISH
Abstract: In this paper we analyse in the framework of constructive mathematics (BISH) the validity of Farkas' lemma and related propositions, namely the Fredholm alternative for solvability of systems of linear equations, optimality criteria in linear programming, Stiemke's lemma and the Superhedging Duality from mathematical finance, and von Neumann's minimax theorem with application to constructive game… ▽ More

Model Uncertainty: A Reverse Approach
Abstract: Robust models in mathematical finance replace the classical single probability measure by a sufficiently rich set of probability measures on the future states of the world to capture (Knightian) uncertainty about the "right" probabilities of future events. If this set of measures is nondominated, many results known from classical dominated frameworks cease to hold as probabilistic and analytic too… ▽ More

Model Spaces for Risk Measures
Abstract: We show how risk measures originally defined in a model free framework in terms of acceptance sets and reference assets imply a meaningful underlying probability structure. Hereafter we construct a maximal domain of definition of the risk measure respecting the underlying ambiguity profile. We particularly emphasise liquidity effects and discuss the correspondence between properties of the risk me… ▽ More

The Fatou Closedness under Model Uncertainty
Abstract: We provide a characterization in terms of Fatou closedness for weakly closed monotone convex sets in the space of $\mathcal{P}$-quasisure bounded random variables, where $\mathcal{P}$ is a (possibly non-dominated) class of probability measures. Applications of our results lie within robust versions the Fundamental Theorem of Asset Pricing or dual representation of convex risk measures.

Which eligible assets are compatible with comonotonic capital requirements?
Abstract: Within the context of capital adequacy, we study comonotonicity of risk measures in terms of the primitives of the theory: acceptance sets and eligible, or reference, assets. We show that comonotonicity cannot be characterized by the properties of the acceptance set alone and heavily depends on the choice of the eligible asset. In fact, in many important cases, comonotonicity is only compatible wi… ▽ More

Robust Optimal Risk Sharing and Risk Premia in Expanding Pools
Abstract: We consider the problem of optimal risk sharing in a pool of cooperative agents. We analyze the asymptotic behavior of the certainty equivalents and risk premia associated with the Pareto optimal risk sharing contract as the pool expands. We first study this problem under expected utility preferences with an objectively or subjectively given probabilistic model. Next, we develop a robust approach… ▽ More
