Abstract: We present a study of the rare charm meson decays $ D^{0}\rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}e^{+}e^{-} $, $ π^{+}π^{-}e^{+}e^{-} $, and $ K^{-}π^{+}e^{+}e^{-} $ using a 942 fb$^{-1}$ data set collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $ e^{+}e^{-} $ collider. The branching fraction for decay $ D^{0} \rightarrow K^{-}π^{+}e^{+}e^{-} $ is measured to be (39.6 $\pm$ 4.5 (stat) $\pm$ 2.9 (syst)) $\times$ $10^{-7}$, with the dielectron mass in the $ ρ/ω$ mass region $ 675 < m_{ee} < 875 $ MeV$/c^{2}$. We also search for $ D^{0}\rightarrow h^{-} h^{(\prime)+}e^{+}e^{-} $ ($ h^{(\prime)}=K,\,π$) decays with the dielectron mass near the $η$ and $φ$ resonances, and away from these resonances for the $ K^{+}K^{-}e^{+}e^{-} $ and $ π^{+}π^{-}e^{+}e^{-} $ modes. For these modes, we find no significant signals and set 90$\%$ confidence level upper limits on their branching fractions at the $\mathcal{O}$(10$^{-7}$) level. △ Less

Search for an Axion-Like Particle in $B\rightarrow K^{(*)} a (\rightarrowγγ)$ Decays at Belle

Abstract: We report a search for an axion-like particle $a$ in $B\rightarrow K^{(*)} a (\rightarrowγγ)$ decays using data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. The search is based on a $711 \mathrm{fb^{-1}}$ data sample collected at the $Υ4S$ resonance energy, corresponding to a sample of $772\times10^6$ $Υ4S$ events. In this study, we search for the dec… ▽ More We report a search for an axion-like particle $a$ in $B\rightarrow K^{(*)} a (\rightarrowγγ)$ decays using data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. The search is based on a $711 \mathrm{fb^{-1}}$ data sample collected at the $Υ4S$ resonance energy, corresponding to a sample of $772\times10^6$ $Υ4S$ events. In this study, we search for the decay of the axion-like particle into a pair of photons, $a \rightarrow γγ$. We scan the two-photon invariant mass in the range $0.16\ \mathrm{GeV/}c^2-4.50\ \mathrm{GeV}/c^2$ for the $K$ modes and $0.16\ \mathrm{GeV/}c^2-4.20\ \mathrm{GeV}/c^2$ for the $K^{*}$ modes. No significant signal is observed in any of the modes, and 90\% confidence level upper limits are established on the coupling to the $W$ boson, $g_aW$, as a function of $a$ mass. The limits range from $3 \times 10^{-6} \mathrm{GeV}^{-1}$ to $3 \times 10^{-5} \mathrm{GeV}^{-1}$, improving the current constraints on $g_aW$ by a factor of two over the most stringent previous experimental results. △ Less

Determination of $|V_{cb}|$ using $B\to D\ellν_\ell$ Decays at Belle II

Using an inclusive reconstruction of the unobserved neutrino momentum, we determine the recoil variable $w=v_B\cdot v_D$, where $v_B$ and $v_D$ are the 4-velocities of the $B$ and $D$ mesons. We measure the total decay branching fractions to be $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to D^-\ell^+ν_\ell)=(2.06 \pm 0.05\,(\mathrm{stat.}) \pm 0.10\,(\mathrm{sys.}))\%$ and $\mathcal{B}(B^+\to\bar D^0\ell^+ν_\ell)=(2.31 \pm 0.04\,(\mathrm{stat.}) \pm 0.09\,(\mathrm{sys.}))\%$. We probe lepton flavor universality by measuring $\mathcal{B}(B\to Deν_e)/\mathcal{B}(B\to Dμν_μ)=1.020 \pm 0.020\,(\mathrm{stat.})\pm 0.022\,(\mathrm{sys.})$. Fitting the partial decay branching fraction as a function of $w$ and using the average of lattice QCD calculations of the $B\to D$ form factor, we obtain $ |V_{cb}|=(39.2\pm 0.4\,(\mathrm{stat.}) \pm 0.6\,(\mathrm{sys.}) \pm 0.5\,(\mathrm{th.})$. △ Less

Abstract: Inelastic dark matter models that have two dark matter particles and a massive dark photon can reproduce the observed relic dark matter density without violating cosmological limits. The mass splitting between the two dark matter particles $χ_{1}$ and $χ_{2}$, with $m(χ_{2}) > m(χ_{1})$, is induced by a dark Higgs field and a corresponding dark Higgs boson $h^{\prime}$. We set upper limits on the product of the production cross section $σ\left(e^+e^- \to h^\prime χ_1 χ_2\right)$, and the product of branching fractions $\mathcal{B}\left(χ_2\toχ_1 e^+ e^-\right)\times\mathcal{B}\left(h^\prime\to x^+x^-\right)$, where $x^+x^-$ indicates $μ^+μ^-, π^+π^-$, or $K^+K^-$, as functions of $h^{\prime}$ mass and lifetime at the level of $10^{-1}\,\mbox{fb}$. We set model-dependent upper limits on the dark Higgs mixing angle at the level of $10^{-5}$ and on the dark photon kinetic mixing parameter at the level of $10^{-3}$. We obtain $\mathcal{R}(D^+) = 0.418 \pm 0.074 ~({\mathrm{stat}}) \pm 0.051 ~({\mathrm{syst}})$ and $\mathcal{R}(D^{*+}) = 0.306 \pm 0.034 ~({\mathrm{stat}}) \pm 0.018 ~({\mathrm{syst}})$, which are consistent with world average values. The measured branching fraction ratios are $\frac{\cal{B}(Ξ_{c}^{+} \to Σ^{+}K_{S}^{0})}{\cal{B}(Ξ_{c}^{+}\to Ξ^{-}π^{+}π^+)}= 0.067 \pm 0.007 \pm 0.003$, $\frac{\cal{B}(Ξ_c^{+} \to Ξ^{0}π^{+})}{\cal{B}(Ξ_{c}^{+}\to Ξ^{-}π^{+}π^+)} = 0.248 \pm 0.005 \pm 0.009$, $\frac{\cal{B}(Ξ_c^{+} \to Ξ^{0}K^{+})}{\cal{B}(Ξ_{c}^{+}\to Ξ^{-}π^{+}π^+)} = 0.017 \pm 0.003 \pm 0.001$. Additionally, the ratio ${\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{+}\toΞ^{0}K^{+})/{\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{+}\toΞ^{0}π^{+})$ is measured to be $ 0.068 \pm 0.010 \pm 0.004$. Here, the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Multiplying the ratios by the branching fraction of the normalization mode, ${\mathcal B}(Ξ_{c}^{+}\toΞ^{-}π^{+}π^+)= (2.9\pm 1.3)\%$, we obtain the following absolute branching fractions ${\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{+}\toΣ^{+}K^{0}_{S}) = (0.194 \pm 0.021 \pm 0.009 \pm 0.087 )%$, ${\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{+}\toΞ^{0}π^{+}) = (0.719 \pm 0.014 \pm 0.024 \pm 0.322 )%$, ${\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{+}\toΞ^{0}K^{+}) = (0.049 \pm 0.007 \pm 0.002 \pm 0.022 )%$. △ Less

Recently, the far detector of the experiment has been completed and is currently i… ▽ More The JSNS2-II (the second phase of JSNS2, J-PARC Sterile Neutrino Search at J-PARC Spallation Neutron Source) is an experiment aimed at searching for sterile neutrinos. This experiment has entered its second phase, employing two liquid scintillator detectors located at near and far positions from the neutrino source. Recently, the far detector of the experiment has been completed and is currently in the calibration phase. This paper presents a detailed description of the calibration process utilizing the LED system. The LED system of the far detector uses two Ultra-Violet (UV) LEDs, which are effective in calibrating all of PMTs at once. The UV light is converted into the visible light wavelengths inside liquid scintillator via the wavelength shifters, providing pseudo-isotropic light. The properties of all functioning Photo-Multiplier-Tubes (PMTs) to detect the neutrino events in the far detector, such as gain, its dependence of supplied High Voltage (HV), and Peak-to-Valley (PV) were calibrated. To achieve a good energy resolution for physics events, up to 10% of the relative gain adjustment is required for all functioning PMTs. This will be achieved using the measured HV curves and the LED calibration. The Peak-to-Valley (PV) ratio values are the similar to those from the production company, which distinguish the single photo-electron signal from the pedestal. Additionally, the precision of PMT signal timing is measured to be 2.1 ns, meeting the event reconstruction requirement of 10 ns. △ Less

Measurement of the Branching Fraction of $Λ_c^+ \to p K_S^0 π^0$ at Belle

Abstract: We report a precise measurement of the ratio of branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\to p K_S^0 π^0)/\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\to p K^- π^+)$ using 980 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ data from the Belle experiment. We obtain a value of $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\to p K_S^0 π^0)/\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\to p K^- π^+)=0.339\pm 0.002\pm 0.009$, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.… ▽ More We report a precise measurement of the ratio of branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\to p K_S^0 π^0)/\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\to p K^- π^+)$ using 980 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ data from the Belle experiment. By combining our result with the world average $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\to p K^- π^+)$, we obtain the absolute branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\to p K_S^0 π^0)=(2.12\pm 0.01\pm 0.05 \pm 0.10)\%$, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and the uncertainty in the absolute branching fraction scale $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\to p K^- π^+)$, respectively. Abstract: Using data samples of 102 million Upsilon(1S) events and 158 million Upsilon(2S) events collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider, we search for [udsccbar] pentaquark states decaying to Jpsi Lambda. Using the first observations of Upsilon(1S, 2S) inclusive decays to Jpsi Lambda, we find evidence of the P_ccbars(4459)0 state with a local significance of 3.3 sta… ▽ More Using data samples of 102 million Upsilon(1S) events and 158 million Upsilon(2S) events collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider, we search for [udsccbar] pentaquark states decaying to Jpsi Lambda. Using the first observations of Upsilon(1S, 2S) inclusive decays to Jpsi Lambda, we find evidence of the P_ccbars(4459)0 state with a local significance of 3.3 standard deviations, including statistical and systematic uncertainties. We measure the mass and width of the Pccbars(4459)0 to be (4471.7 +- 4.8 +- 0.6) MeV/c2 and (21.9 +- 13.1 +- 2.7) MeV, respectively. The branching fractions for P_ccbars(4459)0 production are measured to be B[Upsilon(1S) -> P_ccbars(4459)0/ Pbar_ccbars(4459)0 + anything] = (3.5 +- 2.0 +- 0.2)*10-6 and B[Upsilin(2S) -> P_ccbars(4459)0/ Pbar_ccbars(4459)0 +anything] = (2.9 +- 1.7 +- 0.4)*10-6. The inclusive branching fractions of Upsilon(1S, 2S) -> Jpsi Lambda/Lambdabar are measured to be B[Upsilin(1S) -> Jpsi Lambda/Lambdabar + anything] = (36.9 +- 5.3 +- 2.4)*10-6 and B[Upsilon(2S) -> Jpsi Lambda/Lambdabar + anything] = (22.3 +- 5.7 +- 3.1)*10-6. We measure the visible cross section $σ(e^+e^- \to J/psi Λ/\barΛ$ + anything) = (90 +- 14 +- 6) fb for the continuum production at $\sqrt{s} = 10.52$ GeV. Abstract: We report an updated neutrino mixing angle of $θ_{13}$ obtained from a complete data sample of the RENO experiment. The experiment has measured the amplitude and frequency of reactor anti-electron-neutrinos ($\barν_{e}$) oscillations at the Hanbit nuclear power plant, Younggwang, Korea, since August 2011. As of March 2023, the data acquisition was completed after a total of 3800 live days of detector operation. The observed candidates via inverse beta decay (IBD) are 1,211,995 (144,667) in the near (far) detector. Based on an observed energy-dependent reactor neutrino disappearance, neutrino oscillation parameters of $θ_{13}$ and $\lvertΔm_{ee}^2\rvert$ are precisely determined as $\sin^{2}2θ_{13}=0.0920_{-0.0042}^{+0.0044}(\text{stat.})_{-0.0041}^{+0.0041}(\text{syst.})$ and $\lvertΔm_{ee}^2\rvert=\left[2.57_{-0.11}^{+0.10}(\text{stat.})_{-0.05}^{+0.05}(\text{syst.})\right]\times10^{-3}~\text{eV}^{2}$. Compared to the previous RENO results published in Ref.~\cite{PhysRevLett.121.201801}, the precision is improved from 7.5\% to 6.4\% for $\sin^{2}2θ_{13}$ and from 5.2\% to 4.5\% for $\lvertΔm_{ee}^2\rvert$. The statistical error of the measurement has reached our goal and is hardly improved with additional data-taking. △ Less

Measurement of the inclusive branching fractions for $B_s^0$ decays into $D$ mesons via hadronic tagging

We reconstruct one $B_s^0$ meson in $e^+e^- \to Υ(10860) \to B_s^{*} \bar{B}_s^{*}$ events and measure yields of $D_s^+$, $D^0$, and $D^+$ mesons in the rest of the event. We obtain $\mathcal{B}(B_s^0 \to D_s^{\pm} X) = (68.6 \pm 7.2 \pm 4.0)\%$, $\mathcal{B}(B_s^0 \to D^0/\bar{D}^0 X) = (21.5 \pm 6.1 \pm 1.8)\%$, and $\mathcal{B}(B_s^0 \to D^{\pm} X) = (12.6 \pm 4.6 \pm 1.3)\%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Averaging with previous Belle measurements gives $\mathcal{B}(B_s^0 \to D_s^{\pm} X) = (63.4 \pm 4.5 \pm 2.2)\%$ and $\mathcal{B}(B_s^0 \to D^0/\bar{D}^0 X) = (23.9 \pm 4.1 \pm 1.8)\%$. For the $B_s^0$ production fraction at the $Υ(10860)$, we find $f_s = (21.4^{+1.5}_{-1.7})\%$. △ Less

The data were recorded by the Belle experiment, consisting of 571 fb$^{-1}$ at 10.58 GeV and 74 fb$^{-1}$ at 10.52 GeV. Production cross sections are extracted as a function of the fractional hadron momentum $x_p$ . The measurements are compared to {\sc pythia} Monte Carlo generator predictions with various fragmentation settings, including those that have increased fragmentation into vector mesons over pseudo-scalar mesons. The cross sections measured for light hadrons are consistent with no additional increase of vector over pseudo-scalar mesons. The charmed-meson cross sections are compared to earlier measurements -- when available -- including older Belle results, which they supersede. They are in agreement before application of an improved initial-state radiation correction procedure that causes slight changes in their \xp shapes. △ Less

Measurement of $B \to K{}^{*}(892)γ$ decays at Belle II

Abstract: We present measurements of $B \to K{}^{*}(892)γ$ decays using $365\,{\rm fb}^{-1}$ of data collected from 2019 to 2022 by the Belle~II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. The data sample contains $(387 \pm 6) \times 10^6$ $Υ(4S)$ events. We measure branching fractions ($\mathcal{B}$) and $C\!P$ asymmetries ($\mathcal{A}_{C\!P}$) for both $B^{0}\to K{}^{*0}γ$ and $B^{+}\to K{}^{*+}γ$ decays. The difference in $C\!P$ asymmetries ($Δ\mathcal{A}_{C\!P}$) and the isospin asymmetry ($Δ_{0+}$) between these neutral and charged channels are also measured. We obtain the following branching fractions and $C\!P$ asymmetries: $\mathcal{B} (B^{0} \to K{}^{*0}γ) = (4.14 \pm 0.10 \pm 0.11 ) \times 10^{-5}$, $\mathcal{B} (B^{+} \to K{}^{*+}γ) = (4.04 \pm 0.13 {}^{+0.13}_{-0.15} )\times 10^{-5}$, $\mathcal{A}_{C\!P} (B^{0} \to K{}^{*0}γ) = (-3.3 \pm 2.3 \pm 0.4 )\%$, and $\mathcal{A}_{C\!P} (B^{+} \to K{}^{*+}γ) = (-0.7 \pm 2.9 \pm 0.5 )\%$. The measured difference in $C\!P$ asymmetries is $Δ\mathcal{A}_{C\!P} = (+2.6 \pm 3.8 \pm 0.6 )\%$, and the measured isospin asymmetry is $Δ_{0+} = (+4.8 \pm 2.0 \pm 1.8 )\%$. The first uncertainties listed are statistical and the second are systematic. These results are consistent with world-average values and theory predictions. △ Less

Observation of time-dependent $CP$ violation and measurement of the branching fraction of $B^0 \to J/ψπ^0$ decays

Search for $C\!P$ violation in $D^+_{(s)}\to{}K_{S}^{0}K^{-}π^{+}π^{+}$ decays using triple and quadruple products

Abstract: We perform the first search for $C\!P$ violation in ${D_{(s)}^{+}\to{}K_{S}^{0}K^{-}π^{+}π^{+}}$ decays. We use a combined data set from the Belle and Belle II experiments, which study $e^+e^-$ collisions at center-of-mass energies at or near the $Υ(4S)$ resonance. We use 980 fb$^{-1}$ of data from Belle and 428 fb$^{-1}$ of data from Belle~II. We measure six $C\!P$-violating asymmetries that are based on triple products and quadruple products of the momenta of final-state particles, and also the particles' helicity angles. We obtain a precision at the level of 0.5% for $D^+\to{}K_{S}^{0}K^{-}π^{+}π^{+}$ decays, and better than 0.3% for $D^+_{s}\to{}K_{S}^{0}K^{-}π^{+}π^{+}$ decays. No evidence of $C\!P$ violation is found. Our results for the triple-product asymmetries are the most precise to date for singly-Cabibbo-suppressed $D^+$ decays. Toward characterizing the neutrino interaction, ostensibly $ν_μn \rightarrow μ^- p$ or $ν_μ$$^{12}\mathrm{C}$ $\rightarrow μ^-$$^{12}\mathrm{N}$, we define the missing energy as the energy transferred to the nucleus ($ω$) minus the kinetic energy of the outgoing proton(s), $E_{m} \equivω-\sum T_p$, and relate this to visible energy in the detector, $E_{m}=E_{ν_μ} (235.5 \mathrm{MeV})-m_μ(105.7 \mathrm{MeV}) + [m_n-m_p (1.3 \mathrm{MeV})] - E_{\mathrm{vis}}$. The missing energy, which is naively expected to be zero in the absence of nuclear effects (e.g. nucleon separation energy, Fermi momenta, and final-state interactions), is uniquely sensitive to many aspects of the interaction, and has previously been inaccessible with neutrinos. The shape-only, differential cross section measurement reported, based on a $(77\pm3)$% pure double-coincidence kaon decay-at-rest signal (621 total events), provides detailed insight into neutrino-nucleus interactions, allowing even the nuclear orbital shell of the struck nucleon to be inferred. The measurement provides an important benchmark for models and event generators at hundreds of MeV neutrino energies, characterized by the difficult-to-model transition region between neutrino-nucleus and neutrino-nucleon scattering, and relevant for applications in nuclear physics, neutrino oscillation measurements,and Type-II supernova studies. △ Less

The two decays are reconstructed without identifying the partner $B$ mesons. We simultaneously measure the differential branching fractions of $B^0\toπ^- \ell^+ ν_{\ell}$ and $B^+\toρ^0 \ell^+ν_{\ell}$ decays as functions of $q^2$ (momentum transfer squared). From these, we obtain total branching fractions $B(B^0\toπ^- \ell^+ ν_{\ell}) = (1.516 \pm 0.042 (\mathrm{stat}) \pm 0.059 (\mathrm{syst})) \times 10^{-4}$ and $B(B^+\toρ^0 \ell^+ν_{\ell}) = (1.625 \pm 0.079 (\mathrm{stat}) \pm 0.180 (\mathrm{syst})) \times 10^{-4}$. By fitting the measured $B^0\toπ^- \ell^+ ν_{\ell}$ partial branching fractions as functions of $q^2$, together with constraints on the non-perturbative hadronic contribution from lattice QCD calculations, we obtain $|V_{ub}|$ = $(3.93 \pm 0.09 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.19) \times 10^{-3}$. The measured branching fractions are $(13.1^{+2.0 +1.3}_{-1.9 -1.2})\times 10^{-7}$ and $(7.5\pm 1.3^{+1.0}_{-0.8})\times 10^{-7}$ for $B^{+}\rightarrowρ^{+}γ$ and $B^{0}\rightarrowρ^{0}γ$ decays, respectively, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Measurement of the integrated luminosity of data samples collected during 2019-2022 by the Belle II experiment

We determine the integrated luminosities of these data samples using three distinct methodologies involving Bhabha ($e^+e^- \to e^+e^-(nγ)$), digamma ($e^+e^- \to γγ(nγ)$), and dimuon ($e^+e^- \to μ^+ μ^- (nγ)$) events. Abstract: We search for excited charmed baryons in the $Λ_c^+η$ system using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 980 $\rm fb^{-1}$. The data were collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB $e^{+}$$e^{-}$ asymmetric-energy collider. No significant signals are found in the $Λ_c^+η$ mass spectrum, including the known $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $Λ_c(2940)^+$. Clear $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $Λ_c(2940)^+$ signals are observed in the $pD^0$ mass spectrum. We set upper limits at 90\% credibility level on ratios of branching fractions of $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $Λ_c(2940)^+$ decaying to $Λ_c^+η$ relative to $Σ_c(2455)π$ of $<0.13$ for the $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $<1.11$ for the $Λ_c(2940)^+$. We measure ratios of branching fractions of $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $Λ_c(2940)^+$ decaying to $pD^0$ relative to $Σ_c(2455)π$ of $0.75 \pm 0.03(\text{stat.}) \pm 0.07(\text{syst.})$ for the $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $3.59 \pm 0.21(\text{stat.}) \pm 0.56(\text{syst.})$ for the $Λ_c(2940)^+$. △ Less

Abstract: We present measurements of the branching fractions of eight $\overline B{}^0\to D^{(*)+} K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$, $B^{-}\to D^{(*)0} K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$ decay channels. The results are based on data from SuperKEKB electron-positron collisions at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance collected with the Belle II detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $362~\text{fb}^{-1}$. The event yields are extracted… ▽ More We present measurements of the branching fractions of eight $\overline B{}^0\to D^{(*)+} K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$, $B^{-}\to D^{(*)0} K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$ decay channels. The results are based on data from SuperKEKB electron-positron collisions at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance collected with the Belle II detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $362~\text{fb}^{-1}$. The event yields are extracted from fits to the distributions of the difference between expected and observed $B$ meson energy, and are efficiency-corrected as a function of $m(K^-K^{(*)0}_{(S)})$ and $m(D^{(*)}K^{(*)0}_{(S)})$ in order to avoid dependence on the decay model. These results include the first observation of $\overline B{}^0\to D^+K^-K_S^0$, $B^-\to D^{*0}K^-K_S^0$, and $\overline B{}^0\to D^{*+}K^-K_S^0$ decays and a significant improvement in the precision of the other channels compared to previous measurements. The helicity-angle distributions and the invariant mass distributions of the $K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$ systems are compatible with quasi-two-body decays via a resonant transition with spin-parity $J^P=1^-$ for the $K^-K_S^0$ systems and $J^P= 1^+$ for the $K^-K^{*0}$ systems. Abstract: We report the result of a search for the rare decay $B^{0} \to γγ$ using a combined dataset of $753\times10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected by the Belle experiment and $387\times10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected by the Belle II experiment from decays of the $\rm Υ(4S)$ resonance produced in $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions. Abstract: We report on a search for a resonance $X$ decaying to a pair of muons in $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow μ^+ μ^- X$ events in the 0.212-9.000 GeV/$c^{2}$ mass range, using 178 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the BelleII experiment at the SuperKEKB collider at a center of mass energy of 10.58 GeV. The analysis probes two different models of $X$ beyond the standard model: a $Z^{\prime}$ vector boson in the… ▽ More We report on a search for a resonance $X$ decaying to a pair of muons in $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow μ^+ μ^- X$ events in the 0.212-9.000 GeV/$c^{2}$ mass range, using 178 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the BelleII experiment at the SuperKEKB collider at a center of mass energy of 10.58 GeV. The analysis probes two different models of $X$ beyond the standard model: a $Z^{\prime}$ vector boson in the $L_μ-L_τ$ model and a muonphilic scalar. We observe no evidence for a signal and set exclusion limits at the 90$\%$ confidence level on the products of cross section and branching fraction for these processes, ranging from 0.046 fb to 0.97 fb for the $L_μ-L_τ$ model and from 0.055 fb to 1.3 fb for the muonphilic scalar model. For masses below 6 GeV/$c^{2}$, the corresponding constraints on the couplings of these processes to the standard model range from 0.0008 to 0.039 for the $L_μ-L_τ$ model and from 0.0018 to 0.040 for the muonphilic scalar model. Abstract: We present an analysis of the process $e^{+}e^{-}\toπ^{+}π^{-}Υ(nS)$ (where $n$ = 1, 2, or 3) reconstructed in $19.6\rm$ $\rm fb^{-1}$ of Belle II data during a special run of the SuperKEKB collider at four energy points near the peak of the $Υ(10753)$ resonance. By analyzing the mass distribution of the $π^+π^-Υ(nS)$ system and the Born cross sections of the $e^{+}e^{-}\toπ^{+}π^{-}Υ(nS)$ process, we report the first observation of $Υ(10753)$ decays to the $π^{+}π^{-}Υ(1S)$ and $π^{+}π^{-}Υ(2S)$ final states, and find no evidence for decays to $π^{+}π^{-}Υ(3S)$. Possible intermediate states in the $π^+π^-Υ(1S,2S)$ transitions are also investigated, and no evidence for decays proceeding via the $π^\mp Z_b^\pm$ or $f_0(980)Υ(nS)$ intermediate states is found. We measure Born cross sections for the $e^{+}e^{-}\toπ^{+}π^{-}Υ(nS)$ process that, combined with results from Belle, improve the precision of measurements of the $Υ(10753)$ mass and width by nearly a factor of two to $(10756.3\pm2.7\pm0.6)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(29.7\pm8.5\pm1.1)$ MeV, respectively. The relative ratios of the Born cross sections at the $Υ(10753)$ resonance peak are also reported for the first time. △ Less

Search for Baryon-Number-Violating Processes in $B^-$ Decays to the $\barΞ_{c}^{0} \barΛ_{c}^{-}$ Final State

Abstract: We report the results of the first search for $B^-$ decays to the $\barΞ_{c}^{0} \barΛ_{c}^{-}$ final state using 711~${\rm fb^{-1}}$ of data collected at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. Abstract: We present a measurement of $B^{0} \rightarrow ωω$, a charmless decay into two vector mesons, using 772 $\times 10^6$ $B\overline{B}$ pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. The decay is observed with a significance of 7.9 standard deviations. Data is collected at the $Υ(\mathrm{4S})$ resonance, and one $B$ meson in the $Υ(\mathrm{4S})\rightarrow B\overline{B}$ decay is fully reconstructed in hadronic decay modes. The accompanying signal $B$ meson is reconstructed as $\overline{B}\rightarrow D^{*} τ^{-}\overlineν_τ$ using leptonic $τ$ decays. The normalization decay, $\overline{B}\rightarrow D^{*} \ell^{-} \overlineν_{\ell}$, where $\ell$ is an electron or muon, produces the same observable final state particles. The ratio of branching fractions is extracted in a simultaneous fit to two signal-discriminating variables in both channels and yields $R(D^{*}) = 0.262~_{-0.039}^{+0.041}(\mathrm{stat})~_{-0.032}^{+0.035}(\mathrm{syst})$. This result is consistent with the current world average and with standard model predictions. △ Less

Abstract: We search for the rare decay $B^{+}\rightarrow K^{+}ν\barν$ in a $362\ \rm{fb}^{-1}$ sample of electron-positron collisions at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB collider. We use the inclusive properties of the accompanying $B$ meson in $Υ(4S) \to B\kern 0.18em\overline{\kern -0.18em B}{}$ events to suppress background from other decays of the signal $B$ ca… ▽ More We search for the rare decay $B^{+}\rightarrow K^{+}ν\barν$ in a $362\ \rm{fb}^{-1}$ sample of electron-positron collisions at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB collider. We use the inclusive properties of the accompanying $B$ meson in $Υ(4S) \to B\kern 0.18em\overline{\kern -0.18em B}{}$ events to suppress background from other decays of the signal $B$ candidate and light-quark pair production. We validate the measurement with an auxiliary analysis based on a conventional hadronic reconstruction of the accompanying $B$ meson. For background suppression, we exploit distinct signal features using machine learning methods tuned with simulated data. The signal-reconstruction efficiency and background suppression are validated through various control channels. The branching fraction is extracted in a maximum likelihood fit. Our inclusive and hadronic analyses yield consistent results for the $B^{+}\rightarrow K^{+}ν\barν$ branching fraction of $\left[2.7\pm 0.5(\mathrm{stat})\pm 0.5(\mathrm{syst})\right] \times 10^{-5}$ and $\left[1.1^{+0.9}_{-0.8}(\mathrm{stat}){}^{+0.8}_{-0.5}(\mathrm{syst})\right] \times 10^{-5}$, respectively. Combining the results, we determine the branching fraction of the decay $B^{+}\rightarrow K^{+}ν\barν$ to be $\left[2.3 \pm 0.5(\mathrm{stat})^{+0.5}_{-0.4}(\mathrm{syst})\right]\times 10^{-5}$, providing the first evidence for this decay at $3.5$ standard deviations. The combined result is $2.7$ standard deviations above the standard model expectation. △ Less

In addition, we measure the branching fraction and direct $\it{CP}$ asymmetry of the decay $B^+ \to π^+π^0$ and the branching fraction of the decay $B^0 \to π^+π^-$. The data are collected with the Belle II detector from $e^+e^-$ collisions at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance produced by the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy collider and contain $387\times 10^6$ bottom-antibottom meson pairs. Signal yields are determined in two-dimensional fits to background-discriminating variables, and range from 500 to 3900 decays, depending on the channel. We obtain $-0.03 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.04$ for the sum rule, in agreement with the standard model expectation of zero and with a precision comparable to the best existing determinations. △ Less
