Study of $f_1(1420)$ and $η(1405)$ in the decay $J/ψ\to γπ^{0}π^{0}π^{0}$

Abstract: A partial-wave analysis is performed on the decay $J/ψ\toγπ^{0}π^{0}π^{0}$ within the $π^{0}π^{0}π^{0}$ invariant-mass region below 1.6 GeV$/c^{2}$, using $(10.09~\pm~0.04)\times10^{9} ~J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector. Significant isospin-violating decays of $η(1405)$ and $f_1(1420)$ into $f_0(980)π^{0}$ are observed. Abstract: Based on $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 4.5 fb$^{-1}$ collected at center-of-mass energies between 4599.53 MeV and 4698.82 MeV with the BESIII detector, the absolute branching fraction of the Cabibbo-favored decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛK_{S}^{0}K^{+}$ is measured to be $(3.12\pm0.46\pm0.15)\times10^{-3}$. Combined with a previous measurement from the BESIII… ▽ More Based on $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 4.5 fb$^{-1}$ collected at center-of-mass energies between 4599.53 MeV and 4698.82 MeV with the BESIII detector, the absolute branching fraction of the Cabibbo-favored decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛK_{S}^{0}K^{+}$ is measured to be $(3.12\pm0.46\pm0.15)\times10^{-3}$. Combined with a previous measurement from the BESIII Collaboration, the branching fraction of the decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛK_{S}^{0}K^{+}$ is calculated to be $(3.07\pm0.26\pm0.13)\times10^{-3}$. The decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\toΞ^{0}K_{S}^{0}π^{+}$ is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of $6.6σ$, and its branching fraction is determined to be $(3.70\pm0.60\pm0.21)\times10^{-3}$. In addition, a search for the decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\toΣ^{0} K_{S}^{0}K^{+}$ is performed and its branching fraction is determined to be $(0.80^{+0.28}_{-0.24}\pm0.16)\times10^{-3}$, corresponding to an upper limit of $1.28\times10^{-3}$ at $90\%$ confidence level. Improved Measurements of $D^+ \to ηe^+ν_e$ and $D^+ \to ημ^+ν_μ$

Abstract: Using 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fractions of $D^+\to ηe^+ν_e$ and $D^+\to ημ^+ν_μ$ to be $(9.75\pm0.29\pm0.28)\times10^{-4}$ and $(9.08\pm0.35\pm0.23)\times10^{-4}$, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. From a simultaneous fit to their partial decay rates, we determine the product of the hadronic form factor $f^η_+(0)$ and the modulus of the $c\to d$ Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cd}|$ to be $f^η_+(0)|V_{cd}|=0.078\pm0.002\pm0.001$. Taking the $|V_{cd}|$ value from the Standard Model global fit as input, we obtain $f^η_+(0)=0.345\pm0.008\pm0.003$. The ratio between the measured branching fractions of $D^+\toη^+μ^+ν_μ$ and $D^+\toηe^+ν_e$, is determined to be $0.93\pm0.05_{\rm stat.}\pm0.02_{\rm syst.}$, indicating no violation of lepton flavor universality. △ Less

Lattice QCD Benchmark of Proton Helicity and Flavor-Dependent Unpolarized TMDPDFs at Physical Quark Masses

Abstract: We present the first lattice QCD calculations of the isovector helicity transverse momentum-dependent parton distribution function (TMDPDF) and the flavor-dependent unpolarized TMDPDFs for up and down quarks in the proton. Our computations utilize domain-wall fermion discretization with physical quark masses. Employing Coulomb-gauge-fixed bilocal quark correlation functions within the large-moment… ▽ More We present the first lattice QCD calculations of the isovector helicity transverse momentum-dependent parton distribution function (TMDPDF) and the flavor-dependent unpolarized TMDPDFs for up and down quarks in the proton. Employing Coulomb-gauge-fixed bilocal quark correlation functions within the large-momentum effective theory framework, we access nonperturbative transverse quark separations $b_T$ up to approximately 1~fm, corresponding to low transverse momentum scales. We present renormalization and factorization scale-independent ratios of these TMDPDFs as functions of $b_T$ and longitudinal momentum fraction $x$, allowing direct comparisons with phenomenological parameterizations from global experimental fits. Our results demonstrate remarkably similar $b_T$ dependence between helicity and unpolarized TMDPDFs at moderate $x$, in agreement with phenomenology. In contrast to certain phenomenological models, we observe mild flavor dependence in the $b_T$ distributions at moderate values of $x$. △ Less

The cross sections for the sub processes ${e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowπ^{+}Z_{c}(3900)^{-}+c.c.\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}J/ψ}$, $f_{0}(980)(\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-})J/ψ$, and $(π^{+}π^{-})_{\rm{S\mbox{-}wave}} J/ψ$ are measured for the first time. The mass and width of the $Z_{c}(3900)^{\pm}$ are determined to be $3884.6\pm0.7\pm3.3$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and $37.2\pm1.3\pm6.6$ MeV, respectively. The first errors are statistical and the second systematic. The final state $(π^{+}π^{-})_{\rm{S\mbox{-}wave}} J/ψ$ dominates the process $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ$. By analyzing the cross sections of $π^{\pm}Z_{c}(3900)^{\mp}$ and $f_{0}(980)J/ψ$, $Y(4220)$ has been observed. Its mass and width are determined to be $4225.8\pm4.2\pm3.1$ MeV/$c^{2}$ and $55.3\pm9.5\pm11.1$ MeV, respectively. △ Less

The intermediate process $D^{+} \to a_{0}(980)^{+}η, a_{0}(980)^{+} \to π^{+}η$ is observed and is found to be the only component and its branching fraction is measured to be… ▽ More Using 20.3~${\rm fb}^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data taken with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy 3.773~GeV, we report the first amplitude analysis of the hadronic decay $D^{+} \rightarrow π^{+}ηη$. The intermediate process $D^{+} \to a_{0}(980)^{+}η, a_{0}(980)^{+} \to π^{+}η$ is observed and is found to be the only component and its branching fraction is measured to be $(3.67\pm0.12_{\mathrm{stat.}}\pm 0.06_{\mathrm{syst.}})\times 10^{-3}$. Unlike the $a_{0}(980)$ line-shape observed in the decays of charmed mesons to $a_{0}(980)π$ and in the decay $D^{0} \to a_{0}(980)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e}$, where the low-mass side of the $a_0(980)$ is wider than the high-mass side, the $a_{0}(980)$ line-shape in $D^{+} \to a_{0}(980)^{+}η$ is found to be significantly altered, with the high-mass side being wider than the low-mass side. We establish that the $a_0(980)$ line-shape arises from the triangle loop rescattering of $D^+ \to \bar{K}_0^*(1430)^0K^+ \to a_0(980)^+ η$ and $D^+ \to K_0^*(1430)^+\bar{K}^0 \to a_0(980)^+ η$ with a significance of 5.8$σ$. A partial wave analysis (PWA) of the decay $χ_{c1}\toηηη^{\prime}$ is performed to search for the $1^{-+}$ exotic state $η_1(1855)$. The PWA result indicates that the structure in the $ηη^{\prime}$ mass spectrum is mainly attributed to the $f_0(1500)$, while in the $ηη$ mass spectrum, it is primarily the $0^{++}$ phase space. The upper limit of $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c1}\toη_{1}(1855)η) \cdot \mathcal{B}(η_{1}(1855)\toηη^{\prime})< 9.79 \times 10^{-5}$ is set based on the PWA at 90\% CL. △ Less

Updated analysis of charmonium states in a relativized quark potential model

Abstract: Motivated by recent experimental observations of charmonium(-like) states, we investigate their interpretation as conventional charmonium states within the framework of relativized quark potential model. We find a consistent description of the updated masses of charmonia, bottomonia and some selected charmed mesons, then systematically compute open-charm strong decay widths and electromagnetic tra… ▽ More Motivated by recent experimental observations of charmonium(-like) states, we investigate their interpretation as conventional charmonium states within the framework of relativized quark potential model. We find a consistent description of the updated masses of charmonia, bottomonia and some selected charmed mesons, then systematically compute open-charm strong decay widths and electromagnetic transition widths for radially excited charmonium states up to $n=5$. The numerical results show significantly improved agreement with experimental masses and widths. Notably, the newly-observed $χ_{c1}(4010)$ and $χ_{c1}(4274)$ are tentatively associated with the $χ_{c1}(2P)$ and $χ_{c1}(3P)$ respectively, while the $χ_{c0}(4500)$ and $χ_{c0}(4700)$ are interpreted as the $χ_{c0}(4P)$ and $χ_{c0}(5P)$ states. For the controversial $χ_{c1}(3872)$ state, we suggest its potential connection to $χ_{c1}(4010)$, as a two-pole structure due to the $χ_{c1}(2P)$ coupling to $D\bar{D}$ channels. Intriguingly, the predicted mass of $χ_{c0}(2P)$ is about 3851 MeV, diverging from the original estimate of 3916 MeV in the Godfrey and Isgur's work but consistent with non-relativistic potential model predictions. This calculation might provide more insight to the future experimental investigation of charmonium(-like) states. △ Less

Abstract: We report a study of the semileptonic decay $D^0 \rightarrow \bar{K}^0π^-μ^+ν_μ$ based on a sample of $7.9~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773~GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The branching fraction of the decay is measured for the first time to be… ▽ More We report a study of the semileptonic decay $D^0 \rightarrow \bar{K}^0π^-μ^+ν_μ$ based on a sample of $7.9~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773~GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The branching fraction of the decay is measured for the first time to be $\mathcal{B}(D^0\rightarrow \bar{K}^0π^-μ^+ν_μ) = (1.373 \pm 0.020_{\rm stat} \pm 0.023_{\rm syst})\%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Based on the investigation of the decay dynamics, we find that the decay is dominated by the $K^{*}(892)^-$ resonance with the branching fraction measured to be $\mathcal{B}(D^0\rightarrow K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ) = (1.948 \pm 0.033_{\rm stat} \pm 0.036_{\rm syst})\%$. We also determine the hadronic form factors for the $D^0\rightarrow K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ$ decay to be $r_{V} = V(0)/A_1(0) = 1.46 \pm 0.11_{\rm stat} \pm 0.04_{\rm syst}$, $r_{2} = A_2(0)/A_1(0) = 0.71 \pm 0.08_{\rm stat} \pm 0.03_{\rm syst}$, and $A_1(0)=0.609 \pm 0.008_{\rm stat} \pm 0.008_{\rm syst}$, where $V(0)$ is the vector form factor and $A_{1,2}(0)$ are the axial form factors evaluated at $q^2=0$. The $A_1(0)$ is measured for the first time in $D^0\rightarrow K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ$ decay. Averaging the form-factor parameters that we reported previously in $D^0\rightarrow K^*(892)^-(\rightarrow \bar{K}^0π^-)e^+ν_{e}$ and $D^0\rightarrow K^*(892)^-(\rightarrow K^-π^0)μ^+ν_μ$ decays, we obtain $r_{V}=1.456\pm0.040_{\rm stat}\pm0.016_{\rm syst}$, $r_{2}=0.715\pm0.031_{\rm stat}\pm0.014_{\rm stat}$, and $A_1(0)=0.614\pm0.005_{\rm stat}\pm0.004_{\rm syst}$. This is the most precise determination of the form-factor parameters to date measured in $D\rightarrow K^*(892)$ transition, which provide the most stringent test on various theoretical models. △ Less

The relative phase between the electric and magnetic form factors is determined to be $ΔΦ=(1.53\pm0.36\pm0.03)$ rad with a significance of 5.5$σ$ taking into account systematic uncertainty. This result indicates a non-zero phase between the transition amplitudes of the $Λ\barΛ$ helicity states. Additionally, we measure the angular distribution parameter and the modulus of the ratio between the electric and the magnetic form factor is found to be $η=0.86\pm0.05\pm0.03$ and $R(s)=|G_{E}(s)/G_{M}(s)|=0.47\pm0.08\pm0.05$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. △ Less

The intrinsic soft functions in the CG approach are extracted from form factors with large momentum transfer, and as a byproduct, we also obtain the corresponding Collins-Soper (CS) kernel. Our determinations of both the soft function and the CS kernel agree with perturbation theory at small transverse separations ($b_\perp$) between the quarks. At larger $b_\perp$, the CS kernel remains consistent with recent results obtained using both CG and gauge-invariant TMD correlators in the literature. By combining next-to-leading logarithmic (NLL) factorization of the quasi-TMD beam function and the soft function, we obtain $x$-dependent pion valence-quark TMDPDF for transverse separations $b_\perp \gtrsim 1$ fm. Interestingly, we find that the $b_\perp$ dependence of the phenomenological parameterizations of TMDPDF for moderate values of $x$ are in reasonable agreement with our QCD determinations. Abstract: Using a sample of $(2.712\pm0.014) \times 10^{9}$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the electron positron collider BEPCII, the decay $ψ(3686) \to Ξ^- K^0_S \barΩ^+ +c.c.$ is observed for the first time, which has a significance of 5.9 standard deviations. Abstract: Using $e^+e^-$ collision data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider, the cross section of $e^+e^-\to π^+π^- h_c$ is measured at 59 points with center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$ ranging from $4.009$ to $4.950~\mathrm{GeV}$ with a total integrated luminosity of $22.2~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. The cross section between $4.3$ and $4.45~\mathrm{GeV}$ exhibits a plateau-like shape and drops sharply around $4.5~\mathrm{GeV}$, which cannot be described by two resonances only. Three coherent Breit-Wigner functions are used to parameterize the $\sqrt{s}$-dependent cross section line shape. The masses and widths are determined to be $M_1=(4223.6_{-3.7-2.9}^{+3.6+2.6})~\mathrm{MeV}/c^2$, $Γ_1=(58.5_{-11.4-6.5}^{+10.8+6.7})~\mathrm{MeV}$, $M_2=(4327.4_{-18.8-9.3}^{+20.1+10.7})~\mathrm{MeV}/c^2$, $Γ_2=(244.1_{-27.1-18.0}^{+34.0+23.9})~\mathrm{MeV}$, and $M_3=(4467.4_{-5.4-2.7}^{+7.2+3.2})~\mathrm{MeV}/c^2$, $Γ_3=(62.8_{-14.4-6.6}^{+19.2+9.8})~\mathrm{MeV}$. The first uncertainties are statistical and the other two are systematic. Combining the measurements with the world averages of the corresponding Cabibbo-favored (CF) decays, the ratios of the DCS/CF branching fractions are obtained. Minimal renormalizable $SO(10)$, spontaneous CP violation, and flavor implications

Abstract: In these proceedings, we summarize our recent findings on a minimal renormalizable $SO(10)$ grand unified theory. With the assumption of spontaneous $CP$ violation, the low-energy theory becomes a constrained two-Higgs-doublet model, whose mass spectrum has an upper bound of 545 GeV. Furthermore, the quantum-entangled $Σ^{+}\barΣ^{-}$ system enables the most precise test of $CP$ symmetry for the decay $Σ^+\to pπ^0$, through the asymmetry observable $A_{CP}=(α_{0}+\barα_{0})/(α_{0}-\barα_{0})$ that is measured to be $-0.0118\pm0.0083_{\rm stat}\pm0.0028_{\rm syst}$. Assuming $CP$ conservation, the average decay parameter is determined to be ${\left< α_{\rm 0}\right>} = (α_0-\barα_0)/2=-0.9869\pm0.0011_{\rm stat}\pm0.0016_{\rm syst}$, which is the most precise measurement of the asymmetry decay parameters in baryon sectors. The angular dependence of the ratio of the polarization of the $Σ^+$ in both $J/ψ$ and $ψ(3686)$ decays is studied for the first time. △ Less

The BF of the inclusive decay $Λ_{c}^{+} \to \overline{K}^{0} / K^{0} X$ is calculated to be $\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+} \to \overline{K}^{0} / K^{0} X)=(21.8 \pm0.4 \pm0.2 \pm1.1)\%$, where the third uncertainty accounts for a possible difference between $\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+} \to K_{S}^{0} X)$ and $\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+} \to K_{L}^{0} X)$. Abstract: Using $(2712\pm14)\times10^6$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we perform the first amplitude analysis of the radiative decay $ψ(3686)\to γK_S^0 K_S^0$ within the mass region $M_{K_S^0 K_S^0 }<2.8$ GeV/$c^2$. By comparing with $J/ψ\toγK_S^0 K_S^0$ decay, the ratios $\frac{\mathcal{B}(ψ(3686)\toγf_{0,2})}{\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\toγf_{0,2})}$ are determined, which provides crucial experimental inputs on the internal structure of the $f_{0,2}$ states, especially their potential mixing with glueball components. △ Less

Abstract: By analyzing a $ψ(3686)$ data sample containing $(107.7\pm0.6)\times10^{6}$ events taken with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring in 2009, the $χ_{c0}$ resonance parameters are precisely measured using $χ_{c0,c2} \to π^+π^-/K^+K^-$ events. The mass of $χ_{c0}$ is determined to be $M(χ_{c0})=(3415.67\pm0.07\pm0.06\pm0.07$)~MeV/$c^2$, and its full width is… ▽ More By analyzing a $ψ(3686)$ data sample containing $(107.7\pm0.6)\times10^{6}$ events taken with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring in 2009, the $χ_{c0}$ resonance parameters are precisely measured using $χ_{c0,c2} \to π^+π^-/K^+K^-$ events. The mass of $χ_{c0}$ is determined to be $M(χ_{c0})=(3415.67\pm0.07\pm0.06\pm0.07$)~MeV/$c^2$, and its full width is $Γ(χ_{c0})=(12.44\pm0.12\pm0.12)~{\rm MeV}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third for mass comes from $χ_{c2}$ mass uncertainty. These measurements improve the precision of $χ_{c0}$ mass by a factor of four and width by one order of magnitude over the previous individual measurements, and significantly boost our knowledge about the charmonium spectrum. Together with additional $(345.4\pm2.6)\times10^{6}$ $ψ(3686)$ data events taken in 2012, the decay branching fractions of $χ_{c0,c2}\toπ^+π^-/K^+K^-$ are measured as well, with precision improved by a factor of three compared to previous measurements. Combining our branching fractions with the previous measurements of ${\mathcal B}[D^+\to \bar K_1(1270)^0e^+ν_{e}]$ and ${\mathcal B}[D^0\to K_1(1270)^-e^+ν_{e}]$, we determine the branching fraction ratios to be ${\mathcal B}[D^+\to \bar K_1(1270)^0μ^+ν_μ]/{\mathcal B}[D^+\to \bar K_1(1270)^0e^+ν_{e}]=1.03 \pm 0.14 \substack{+0.11\\-0.15}$ and ${\mathcal B}[D^0\to K_1(1270)^-μ^+ν_μ]/{\mathcal B}[D^0\to K_1(1270)^-e^+ν_{e}]=0.74\pm 0.13 \substack{+0.08\\-0.13}$. Using the branching fractions measured in this work and the world-average lifetimes of the $D^+$ and $D^0$ mesons, we determine the semimuonic partial decay width ratio to be $Γ[D^+\to \bar K_1(1270)^0 μ^+ν_μ]/Γ[D^0\to K_1(1270)^- μ^+ν_μ]=1.22\pm 0.10\substack{+0.06\\-0.09}$, which is consistent with unity as predicted by isospin conservation. △ Less

Furthermore, the $CP$-violation asymmetry parameter is found to be $\mathcal{A}_{CP}(η\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}e^{+}e^{-})=(-4.04\pm4.69_{\rm{stat.}}\pm0.14_{\rm{syst.}})\%$, showing no evidence of $CP$-violation with current statistics. Additionally, we extract the transition form factor from the decay amplitude of $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-e^+e^-$. Finally, axion-like particles are searched for via the decay $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-a, a\rightarrow e^+e^-$, and upper limits on this branching fraction relative to that of $η\rightarrowπ^+π^-e^+e^-$ are presented as a function of the axion-like particle mass in the range $5-200\ \mathrm{MeV}/c^{2}$. △ Less
